Life for women in Iran has really gone haywire with the hold of the tyrannical reign of the Islamic clerics are getting stronger day by day.
After the fall of the Shah Empire in the year 1979, Iranian women are facing too many restrictions imposed on them in accordance with the Sharia Law.
Women in Iran are always regarded as a second-citizen and therefore it is hardly surprising for the concerned department to order a famous persona like Shirin Ebadi to close down her Center for Defense of Human Rights.
Ebadi is one of the leading human rights defender in Iran. She works for the emancipation of women and offers to fight legally for the victims of discrimination and unfair justice.
However, the conservative clerics have ordered her to shut down her firm or face arrest for the offence. The pertinent point that the liberal, if there are any in Iran should understand that is, if this institution of justice stops operating, what will happen to the millions of women across the nation who are too scared to speak up for their rights.
