In a recent interview conducted by IRIN, with Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein, a WFP Goodwill ambassador, the Princess said that she’s quite optimistic about a joint coordination with the Arab Government with the aim of making the people worldwide know that all of them should come together to do something about the people living below the poverty line and not let them die of hunger.



Her Highness said that ‘: I would like to raise awareness in the Arab region and throughout the world about the fact that hunger still claims thousands of lives everyday. My goal is not only to show how shameful this is in a world of plenty where we have enough food for each and every person on the planet, but also to encourage individuals, communities, organisations and governments to come together and work for achieving sustainable solutions to end hunger. I know this is an ambitious goal, but this is why I am working on this issue with the largest humanitarian organisation in the world. If there is one organisation that is equipped and ready to engage in such an endeavour, it is WFP. ‘



Princess Haya when asked whether her focus is going to be exclusively on attracting the Arab and Muslim Countries said that as she belongs to the Arab world she will be working closely with them but her co-curricular activities takes her frequently on visits to the other parts of the world and this will provide her ample chance to work for the hungry, dying masses and raise awareness among the other people.



About her visit to Malawi and Ethiopia with the WFP she said that after having communicated with the people out there she felt that overcoming poverty is not altogether impossible.



During the interview Her Highness also said that UAE is the most openhanded donors to the nations in the crucial times.
