Sports and games are to large extent a restricted zone for the Afghan women. However, this is not stopping the young girls in Afghanistan from enjoying the 2006 World Cup.
Incidentally, the Afghan girl’s soccer league was formed in the year 2004.
Recognizing the efforts put forward by the Afghan female players, the US sports network, ESPN, has zeroed in on two Afghan girls, who they will be honoring for their ‘contributions that transcend sports’.
This prestigious honor is also to boost up the moral of the Afghan girls team, that they are slowly making names in the international level too.
