A group of around 50 people came together in Westbury to throw light on the discrimination that is generally made between the opposite sexes in the Muslim community. Matters related to the hurdles faced by the American Muslim women was also a part of the discussion.
The main aim of the entire meet was however to talk out about the Domestic violence that almost all the Muslim women has to go through in her daily life and how to bring together more Muslim women to take active participation in the ongoing political, social and economic developments of the nation’s.
Many women came down all the way from Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan and even America to take part in the forum.
A woman named Muhammad was called to take part in a protest rally in Manhattan against the Cartoon fiasco but she was not permitted to take part in the meeting that was held so as to plan out the whole event. This situation has left her furious and frustrated.
The female workers feel that most of these divisions are largely created by cultural practices carried out by the religious forums and leaders and Islam propagates no such things.
