
Muslim dress code has always been a much-discussed topic for the media network and in the conservative religious forums as well.
The Tehran Police recently launched a drive to arrest any Iranian women who is seen donning fancy outfits. So far, warning is being given to 32,000 women and 64 men, they are also given information regarding ‘clothing and behaviour’.
A team of religious police is entrusted the responsibility to keep a check on all the dress code violators. The police took fines from 190 shops for selling non-Islamic dresses.
Will someone tell me how can a handful of officers check a population of 12 millions? Why is the Iran Parliament hell bent on dressing up its population in a common religious dress code?
I find it rather funny. It is as if you are going back to your school days where you had to wear a particular dress.
