The latest step taken by the Pakistani government to make amendments in the law pertaining to women rights have met with stiff opposition from the religious conservatives.



According to this law, a woman who commits adultery will be sentenced to death, if she fails to produce four male witnesses. Human rights organization has from quite a long time trying to overthrow this law and they have made an appeal to the government in this regard, owing to which the liberals have taken ahead the proposal of amending the law.



The radicals, criticizing the government for their decision, held a major protest in several cities across the nation. Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, one of the senior members of the six party alliance group MMA even said that:


We will even sacrifice our lives for this and will not allow these amendments to take place. This is part of a US and Jewish conspiracy and we will resist it forcefully.
