Verse 2:222-223 of the Quran has been wrongly interpreted by many scholars. They abuse the Verse by interpreting that Quran does not permit menstruating women to perform religious practices. But if one would carefully examine the Verse then will find that the Verse talks about the personal hygiene and not about religious practices. Read More: Submission

Really a very strong point raised. Something really very brave. I like the bold attempts made by the site. Keep it up Bhawana.
Assalamu ’alaykum. My dear Akhi(brother)/sister, the quraan in that ayat never spoke about women praying during menstruation. It did however say that they are impure and we all know that when someone is Junub they are prohibitted from prayer until they gain Taharrah once more. That ayah did not mention prayer, however the prophet(SAW) was quoted to have said in Bukharie,I think that most of that women lack in religion due to the fact that while menstruating they cannot fast nor prayer. Salams.
Wa alaikum Salam. Dear brother/sister, thanks for taking out time for posting the comment. In fact, the very success of blogs lies in invoking meaningful debates.
I would like to draw your attention towards the Quran Verses 2:222 and 2:223, which prohibit sexual intercourse during the menstruating period, because it is regarded harmful medically. But what must not be lost sight of is the fact that these Verses nowhere mentioned that a menstruating women cannot fast, pray or worship. It is just a misconception that the women are unclean during menstruation and hence cannot pray.
However, even this so-called misconception seems to be based on reasons: since the period of menstruation is painful for women – though degree may vary from person to person, they are called “unclean” so as to keep them away from doing physically-tiring jobs. But whether offering prayers is also a tough task should be left for the person concerned to decide.
Dear Sister Bhawna,
During mensturation period, as you mentioned, the woman will be under physical and mental tension, thus she is exempted from offering daily obligatory prayers(see how islam taking care and considering a woman)and it is not to be completed later. But in the case of fasting, if it comes in mensturatin period, she doesn’t have to fast at that time, but she has to fast another time. Islam always giving equal right to both men and women where it is possible (The Almighty Allah knows well about his creations and its mind as well as physique than you and me.) Can you show any other religion providing full authority to the woman for the money earned by the woman herslef by doing right jobs. She doesn’t look after her house even. That is the duty given to her husband. So husband has to earn the livelyhood for the family not the woman. And you says Islam suppresses the woman. Islam is protecting her from being a commodity in the public , that is why islam asking her to cover her body and keep it as a treasure for your life partner, not the on lookers
