Laurie A. Brand in her book Women, the State, and Political Liberalization has talked about the problems faced by the women and political liberalization. She has given the various references in the book through her experience of women in Eastern Europe and Latin America.
There are several case studies covered in the book which clearly highlight that the invisibility of women from the political arena is not related with their lack of interest in politics. Infact it gave a totally different view that the political liberalization of women can never lead to n social liberalization of women.
