The Muslim women drivers in New Jersey complained that though according to the policy, women are allowed to drive in their religious head coverings, but the state Motor Vehicle Commission compel them to either remove their head scarf or pull them back so that their substantial amount of hair is showing.
However, after several complaints, the motor vehicle agency wrote an apology letter, promising to make sure that all its employees are familiar with the guidelines on head covering and would follow them equally on everyone.
