Hijab has always proved as a barrier for a majority of the Muslim women worldwide. Workplace, public places and even while commuting they are subjected to cold stares, mainly by the non-Islam population largely because of the misconception that they have regarding the Muslim women as the ‘victim of oppression’.
Four Muslim women in a Downtown hotel in Kentucky were denied housekeeping jobs, only because they had their traditional garb on - the ‘hijab’. However, all four of them have filed a lawsuit against the hotel because of inequality. They are backed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in this act, who also has stated that the Hotel authority has gone against the law by discriminating against these women job seekers.
