RABI’A: the second from left

There is so much of controversy regarding the Hijab/head veil of the Muslim Women that I am often caught up in a dilemma as to whom to argue with.

Today I will share with you a real life story of Rabi’a Frank, an Islamic woman from Dutch.

Rabi’a Frank who got converted to Islam 11 years ago when she married her Moroccan Husband feels that life for her since her marriage has been nothing but COLD STARES. Whenever she goes out she loves to adorn her religious dress and she sees the world through the tiny opening near her eyes.

Rabi’a often gets unkindly glances from the onlookers of her own hometown as if she is a terrorist or someone who is oppressed.

In her words: “If you cover yourself, you are oppressed .Or, you’re a potential terrorist.’

“Sometimes I make a joke and say, ‘Oh, you don’t have to be scared of me.’

But even she is human and feels pissed off to be treated like an alien all the time. When things are just too bad for her she slides her hands up near here face underneath the veil and pulls the imaginary trigger...BOOM!!!!

She is laughed at by the Muslim Women. Inorder to convince everyone that now she is a Muslim Woman and all should accept her as one of them, she started writing articles and giving lectures but the response that she got from another Muslim Woman is, “Go back to your own country.”

Even her 7 year old son asked her to take off the veil as his friends make fun of her at school. But she says:

“I won’t take it off.’ “For me, it’s like driving a car without a seat belt.”

“I am a Muslim.’ “That’s my identity.”
