Sachiko Murata in her book The Tao of Islam has taken into consideration the view of both Shia and Sunni communities so as to give a complete overview of Islam on gender-related issues.
Murata has also made a philosophical approach in her book and pointed towards the three ultimate realities - the God, the cosmos and the human beings. She further explained that the latter two originate from and merge into the God.
