This was for the first time when the religious leaders from the 50 Islamic countries joined hand to fight against the horrible tradition of female genital mutilation, practiced in many parts of the Muslim world on the pretext of religion.



Rabat Declaration, the first childhood conference, was launched with the objective to put an end to female genital mutilation and many other harmful practices, discriminating girls on the name of religion.



This was a real good step taken by the Muslim countries in the direction of ending gender bias.
