Tehran women\'s rally



The Iranian women in Tehran are preparing to stage a major unauthorized rally to vocalize their demands for more rights to women.



The rally will be joined by some of Iran’s leading intellectual leaders such as writers, teachers, painters, journalists, feminists and by the acclaimed figure, the Novel Prize winner Shirin Enbadi.



Nearly 400 activists have already confirmed their participation in this rally and surprisingly even men are coming forward along with their female partners.



The demands that will be put forward in this rally are:



-No existence of polygamy



-Men should not have the right to disclaim their wives



-Joint custody of children



-Minimum marriageable age should be 18



-Women should be granted legal rights to pass on their nationality to child born to foreign nationals
