Shahla Lahiji, one of the well-known feminist in Iran has accused the government of neglecting women rights. Women in Iran still have a long way to go. However, to bring about change, the Iranian government will have to take the first step so that the male dominated society accepts the changes too.

Few leading women rights activists are organizing for a ‘One Million Signature Campaign’ so that the law, which stops the progress of the women, and discriminates against the women folks, is overthrown.

Despite several attempts made by the activists to collect one million signatures, they are facing stiff opposition from the government.

Our purpose is to mobilise the Iranian society in a movement which doesn’t want to change the regime but rather modify laws discriminating on women.

Leading feminist Lahji said that it is only by involving the pious women that will make the movement effective. This movement is also looking forward to receive major support from the women activists across the world.
