To overthrow the growing western influence on the Iran women, the fashion police in Iran organized the first ever-Islamic Dress Fair, which went on for 10 long days. The exhibition solely targeted in attracting the attention of the Iran women towards their cultural identity and the modesty that they need to maintain in their clothing.
Hosted by Imam Khomeini mosque of Tehran, the highlight of this gala event had much to do with full-length dresses such as overcoats, black chadors, and ankle-length manteaus.
The entire event was a joint effort of the Iran Police, Commerce Ministry, State Broadcasting Corporation and IRIB. Through this fair, they wanted to convey the message of stylish religious dress among the women folks.
Majority of the ‘Chadors’ displayed in the event were of the dark shades, although, one particular piece which attracted the attention of many women was the ‘Blue Chador’ that was showcased in the Superior Hijab Production Company stall.
