Hartun Surucu, 23, was killed on her way to a bus stop in Berlin by several shots hitting the head and upper body. Previously, she has reported one of her brother to the police for threatening her.
After finishing her eighth grade she was married to her cousin. Later she separated from her husband and returned back to her parent’s home, pregnant. At the minor age of 17 she gave birth to a son.
An investigation revealed that three of her brothers were involved in the murder. According to the prosecutor, the oldest of them acquired the weapon, the middle one lured her sister to come to the scene of crime and the youngest one shot her.
Surucu only crime was that she put on make up , do not wear had scarf, went dancing and adorned herself with rings, necklaces and bracelets. Killing for honor is something very shameful and horrible. There is a wall growing in the Islamic suburbs, beyond which there is a world in which the life of women is controlled by their family members.
