Muslim women across the Middle East Nations are suffering from escalating violence. Near about 5,000 honor killings are recorded every year in these countries.



How can anyone kill a woman just because she chooses to dress like a westerner and socialize with non-Muslim men? Just because she chooses her partner from another religion does not give anyone the authority to murder her.



Even a young boy of 11 years can pick up the gun and shoot his sister if she has done any of the above said things. This is rather disgusting that a society whose religious teachings say that men and women has equal rights and on the other hand subjugates the woman to such horrendous acts, is a shame.



In Europe too, this barbarous activity is rising fast. The count has increased during the last decade, particularly among those Muslim communities, who have migrated to Europe but has not been able to merge along with the western culture.



Seeing this crucial situation, recently there was a major conference held by the Police departments all over Europe and a landmark decision was taken, under which Denmark took the most difficult step of implementing Honor Killing as a legal offence.



For the fist time ever in Europe, a court punished several members of one family because they killed an 18-year old girl.



At first, the authorities were quite hesitant to interfere in the personal matters of the Muslim families but with the Danes Court taking a staunch stand, the police departments are opening up the untouched files.
