Maryam Rajavi, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against women, opined that violence against women is due to gender difference and oppression against women. Men can revive their humanity by giving women their rights and freedom. Violence should be stopped at all cost because it prevents the advancement of the society.



Rajavi blamed the mullahs, who spread the phenomenon of fundamentalism, which lead to the violence against women. Pointing to the rape laws she said that the laws are so complex that it is very difficult for a woman to prove that she has been raped and instead be prosecuted for adultery.
