The Egyptian police caned the female Muslim voter when they tried to enter the opposition polling station in the Nile Delta on Wednesday. The violence was stopped only after the interference from the state.
There were around 25 women, who managed to push through the police line, prompting the officers to rush at them so as to hold them back. In order to silence the furious mob, few policemen beat the women with sticks while others shoved them back.
