Rikke Hvilsh’js, minister of refugee, immigration and integration has accepted that there are still some groups which do not give women equal rights under Danish laws. There are societies which do not give women and wives the freedom to go outside the house or permit them to learn Danish language, thus denying them to be an active citizen.

She further added that despite cultural traditions Denmark will not accept any kind of gender inequality and the government wants to help women and give a clear cut signal to men that living in Denmark means giving women equal rights.

Hvilsh’js also promised to give financial support to the organizations which deal with the similar kind of problems in the society.
