After King Abdullah has come into power, he has bought about a slow and steady reform in the region. Today, the Arab women can proudly boast of women employees in almost every area, be it the public sector or the private sector.
From the basic jobs such as security workers to political personas, journalist, doctors, and writers, Saudi women have covered a long distance. It is indeed a moment of glory for the Arab women as two Omani women have won the Distinct Arab Women Award 2006.
Times of Oman reports:
Nearly 633 candidates from all over the world were considered for the contest, out of which, nine were the ultimate winners.
However, the lucky of all were Reem bint Omar Al Zawawi,the chairperson of Oman International Bank’s board, and Dr Rawiyah bint Saud Al Busaidiyah, Higher Education minister of Oman, who bagged the top award - the Distinct Arab Women Award 2006.
