It is quite difficult at times to find colorful Islamic apparels; however, here are few happening designers who have made some wonderful piece of fusion wears for the Muslim women.
Brooke Samad, an ex-student from NYU and a talented FIT graduate single-handedly kicked off her new venture and titled it ‘Marabo Inc‘ wherein she has stored some interesting range of apparels very much with regards to the Islamic law.
Here are few samples from her clothing line:

Empire Tunic

Bohemian Tunic

Pink Mandarin Button-Down

Boho Bead Crochet Skirt

Washed Linen Skirt
Sarah Rahmani, the 38-year-old Afghan women hailing from Kabul is one of the renowned designers who love to experiment a lot with quite bizarre styles. Her best-seller last year was the ‘peasant blouse’ fashioned out by restructuring a ‘burqa’.
Sarah’s latest collection includes a colorful jacket that she has carved out by using the fabric of the ‘Turbans’ soprted by the Taliban and the Pashtun men of Afghanistan. Her list of clientele is long: from local Afghan women to those staying abroad everyone just adores the dresses that she creates.
32-years-old Sarah Takesh is the creative head and managing director of Tarsian and Blinkley, the only recognized and established Afghan brand, which had been able to spread its wings in the international market.
For Sarah, running a business in a war-crippled economy was tough but she has managed to do so. She says ‘We are eccentrics. I don’t think anyone really thinks about what it involves when they set up here’.
Afghani apparel from Sarah’s Kabul store:

Two more designers who are creating a buzz for their neat cut and modern Afghan dresses are Gabriella Ghidoni and Zolaykha Sherzad who displayed some excellent collection at the First Fashion show of Afghan in almost a decade.

If you are wondering where all this colorful burqa’s are to be found, here is your hint: on a visit to Oman, photographer Kate Brooks captured some great pictures of the women donning colorful traditional burqas, which finds its way in my story.
