Does anyone even remember that on May 30, two Iranian women made history by becoming the first two women to have reached the peak of Mount Everest?
30th May 2005 is not only a day to be celebrated for the Iran women but also for Iran’s National Mountaineering Federation as this particular day hails the glorious feat of the eight-member team who made this conquest possible.
This achievement by two Muslim women also marks a turning point in the progress of the women’s sport in Iran.
