Women, Muslim women

Despite the Pakistani Government’s claims on dropping numbers of unemployed persons nationwide, the latest Economic Survey states just the opposite.

More than 224,374 Pakistani women, in the period spanning 2005-06 have lost their jobs or just resigned, because the atmosphere at the work place was inconvenient for them, says the survey report.

All these women were working in two predominant sectors - manufacturing and community, social and personal services.

Unfortunately, due to the treatment that they had been subjugated at the work place, few of them opted to leave their jobs, while the employers fired the rest.
